The Walden Club provides a very special place for Members to enjoy their social and business activities, from quiet luncheon meetings and small intimate dinners to large formal private parties and dances. In addition, we now offer casual dining to Members.
In 1975, a select group of Chattanooga business and community leaders had a vision. That vision was of a fine private city club located high atop the tallest building in the heart of the city. They wanted to create “a place of privilege where Members will receive great food, personal service, and enjoy a sky‐high view of Chattanooga.” Unlike the other clubs in Chattanooga, Membership would be available to quality individuals without consideration of their race, sex, creed, or long local lineage. They felt strongly that Chattanooga needed and deserved a fine club that crossed these barriers. Firmly committed to their common goal, they began to build a prestigious Membership roster and plans were drawn up for the club quarters.

Tracy has over 20 years of experience with The Walden Club. He has served in almost every role - from banquet server to General Manager; there is no task he will not take on. Over the years, he has created strong bonds and lasting relationships with the Members. His background in social work and passion for helping local charities align well with his GM position, allowing him to make a positive impact beyond just the club's operations. With Tracy at the helm, Members and guests are ensured to receive a memorable and personalized experience at The Walden Club.
With nearly a decade of experience at the Walden Club, Sarah focuses on cultivating exceptional member experiences and maintaining a positive environment. She leverages her background in education and nonprofit work to connect with Members and guests, and she is committed to both tradition and progress by celebrating and preserving the history of the Club while implementing innovative practices for the future.
With twenty-six years of culinary experience, Margarito is well acquainted with the art of fine dining and food preparation. His knowledge, versatility, and creativity when designing dishes are all well known in many of the most prominent kitchens in Chattanooga, including the Westen Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, and, of course, here at the Walden Club. Margarito values thoughtful, robust, and innovative flavors and presentations, and he welcomes input and ideas from Members and guests.
Chelle began her career with the Berry family over twenty-five years ago. She held many responsibilities during her years with Republic Parking System as office manager and executive assistant, including working with all departments and many of Mr. Berry’s companies. Her well-rounded business acumen and experience has been beneficial in her work with the accounting department and financial reporting for the Club, and Chelle is enthusiastically committed to the Walden Club’s preservation and growth.
Melissa is a lifelong resident of Chattanooga with thirty years of experience in hospitality. She strives to ensure that all of the Walden Club’s cocktails are crafted with fresh juices, premium ingredients, and exceptional creativity. Under Melissa’s guidance and extensive expertise, our beer and wine selections are carefully tailored and approved, and she takes pride in knowing Members’ preferences so that every experience is even better than the last.
